Description
Bad Erlach has been a settlement area on Roman traffic routes on the border between the duchies of Styria and Austria since the earliest times. Characterized by its location on the edge of the Steinfeld and Bucklige Welt, the plain opens up here and gives the village a special charm. It combines Burgenland influences with the Lower Austrian surroundings.
Evidence of the past can be found throughout Austrian history: the medieval Ulrichskirche church, Linsberg Castle as a place of protection, the Harathof from the second Christian colonization period, the village street with its rural character and remnants of industrialization. All of this is integrated into the up-and-coming village without denying its historical diversity.
The cultural hiking trail explores the culture and history of this lesser-known region of Lower Austria. It spans an arc from the historical beginnings through industrialization to the modern wellness oasis in order to convey the unity of landscape, history and culture.
Accompanying persons can be booked via the municipal office.
