Beeren-Bären-Weg, No. 81 The bear is on the loose in Arbesbach! The destination of the hike is the bear enclosure in Schönfeld, which is run by the "Four Paws" organization. The residents Tom, Brumca and Erich have a 1.4 hectare wooded area at their disposal. The newly built visitor center is the ideal complement to the guided tour and brings the work of Vier Pfoten and the Arbesbach bear sanctuary to life. A new children's playground and a spacious skywalk, from which guests can observe the bear activity even better, are part of the adventure to be discovered here.

Make sure the route you choose matches your condition. Check whether the gastronomy businesses you want to visit along the way are open. Pack your charged mobile phone and map material in your backpack. For cross-border routes, always carry a passport or identity card.
Sturdy footwear, functional clothing, sun and rain protection, map material, if necessary telescopic poles, first aid kit (blister plasters), sufficient provisions (snack, muesli bars, fruit, water).
A child-friendly, easy path is the Beeren-Bären-Runde in Arbesbach. The pure walking time is estimated at two and a half hours; however, the actual goal here is not the path itself but the Bear Forest at the turning point. The route starts in the center of Arbesbach and initially leads on a leisurely path through the forest, where you can pick sun-warmed berries (only edible ones!) from various bushes to your mouth. Soon the Bear Forest is reached, where three brown bears enjoy a species-appropriate life in peace. After the visit to the Bear Forest, a break at the Bärenhof restaurant is recommended. On the return route (along the road you came), after about 1 km, turn right before you reach the Buchegg viewpoint, where a wonderful view of the neat Arbesbach awaits you. Past the cemetery, you return to the starting point.

Hiking badges are round wooden plaques decorated and inscribed by pyrography, serving as souvenirs and at the same time as recognition for outstanding achievements.
