Hiking tour Starting from Village square in Biberbach
Family-friendly circular trail along old cider fruit trees.
Family-friendly circular trail along old cider fruit trees.
The Parkfried Chapel Trail is the shortest of the 6 chapel trails in Biberbach and runs on flat terrain around Biberbach. It is therefore ideal for families. The trail leads along rows of old fruit trees across meadow paths and municipal roads. The highlight of this chapel trail is the largest chapel in Biberbach, located at the Vierkanthof farm in Parkfried. On the way back, you pass the "Biberb(e)ach" rest and meeting place, which invites you to linger.
Chapels and wayside crosses along the route:
(1) Berndl wayside cross
(2) Graberhäusel wayside cross
(3) Kumpfmühle wayside cross
(4) Parkfried chapel
(5) Chapel wayside shrine Parkfried
(6) Pyhra wayside cross
(7) Cross in the parish garden

From the starting point at the village square below the church, we cross the main intersection heading west past the (1) Berndl wayside cross and follow the L 6204 just outside the town. After the (2) Graberhäusel wayside cross, we turn right and walk along a meadow path (see also the sign "454 Mostviertler Circular Route") towards the square farmyard "Thalbauer". Here the route continues north past the (3) Kumpfmühle wayside cross over the Biberbach and crosses the L 6189 further towards the hamlet "Parkfried", where the (4) chapel and the (5) wayside shrine Parkfried invite you to pause. Diagonally opposite the wayside shrine, the path continues east over meadows. At the end of the meadow path, we turn right, back towards Biberbach, passing the (6) Pyhra wayside cross, the football field, the tennis court, and the municipal cemetery. In front of the parsonage with the (7) cross in the parsonage garden, the path turns left and leads back to the starting point in the village center.
At the parking lot by the municipal office or at the parking lot by the depot.
