Description
Immediately next to the municipal office, walk down the Kirchenberg to Pürbacher Straße, cross it and continue left to Gasthaus Gruber. There you turn right into Schremser Straße, cross the Braunaubach bridge and immediately afterwards turn left into Blockheideweg. Then you pass the Hubertussäule and turn right into the 2nd alley. Then you reach the main road, where you turn right and after approx. 100 m turn left under the road. After the underpass, turn left again. Now follow the path in a straight direction along the main road. After approx. 400 m you reach the Braunaubach again and follow the path to the right. Now you pass two small fish ponds between fields and meadows until you reach the high-voltage power line. Directly under the power line, the path turns left to the edge of the forest. Follow the path running half-right along the forest until you reach the signposted crossroads "Fa. Backhausen, Märchengrotte". Turn left here, walk through the high forest and then through a mystical fairytale forest to the Braunaubach stream.
Now follow the stream to the right until you reach the bridge. This is the location of the Backhausen textile factory, which has been producing high-quality upholstery and decorative fabrics here since 1870. Opposite the bridge, you can visit a fairytale grotto in a stone cave. After the bridge, turn right and walk up the hill past the old factory fire station. Before the two-storey residential building, the route turns left towards the main road, past a wayside shrine. Follow the accompanying path to the left, past the Silbernagel company and the sewage treatment plant to the underpass. You now have to go under the main road, turn right and pass the wine tavern. Shortly after the wine tavern, turn left into Friedhofstraße. The path takes you past the Gemeindeumweltverband (GUV)-Gmünd and the cemetery. At the next major crossroads, turn right past the fire station (on the right is the elementary school built in 1903) and up the hill towards the church.

Follow the path running half-right along the forest to the marked path junction "Fa. Backhausen, Märchengrotte." Here turn left, go through the high forest and then through a mystical fairy-tale forest to the Braunaubach.Follow the creek to the right up to the bridge. Here is the Backhausen textile factory. After the bridge, go right up the hill - past the old factory fire house. Before the two-story residential building, the route goes left towards the federal road, past a wayside shrine. Follow the accompanying path on the left, past the company Silbernagel and the sewage treatment plant to the underpass. Then under the federal road, right and past the former wine tavern. Turn left into Friedhofstraße. The path leads past the municipal environmental association (GUV) Gmünd and the cemetery. Now at the next big path junction, go right past the fire station, up the hill towards the church and back to the starting point.
