Description
The Burgweg trail leads from the town hall square (parking spaces directly on site or at Edlitz-Grimmenstein train station) towards Kunstgraben, from where a forest path leads over Grimmenstein's local mountain - the Kulmriegel - up towards the castle. A short stopover is worthwhile at the Mariengrotte, a place of Marian devotion with rest facilities. From spring to autumn, you can stop off at the castle and enjoy cool drinks and snacks from the terrace with a magnificent view over the Pittental valley. The route continues under the cooling canopy of leaves up to the Eben, from where it heads back downhill to the town hall square.
