Description
The Burgsteinmauer lookout mountain lies at 975m above sea level. From the summit you have a magnificent view, which on fine days stretches from the Schneeberg to the Dachstein. The new summit cross made of larch wood, two table benches, a large panorama board and a picture frame (for your souvenir photo) invite you to linger.
Tip: Don't forget to make an entry in the summit book!
- Route description Start in St. Oswald (E8), follow Herzsteinweg no. 11 to the Herzstein, continue to Güterweg Undeutsch, turn right towards Burgsteinmauer no. 17. Return to St. Oswald with trail no. 17b via Gigerlsteiner (2.5 h to St. Oswald). At the Gigerlsteiner house, follow the Pichl goods path to the village on the left and join the Ysper-Weitental circular trail no. 22 to St. Oswald.
- Parking Free parking in front of the primary schools or the building yard. E-fuelling station at the car park "Leithenweg" free of charge.
- Getting there Approach from the A1 Westautobahn via Ybbs an der Donau either via the B 36 via Yspertal to St.Oswald or via Ybbs along the Danube west at Ysperdorf, towards Yspertal via Fell to St.Oswald.
