Description
A varied, easy circular hike through the beautiful surroundings of Pyhra. We pass through fields, meadows and woods, stroll along the Perschling. And again and again we look out for the next tree in the tree circle - searching for our own tree or that of our loved ones based on their date of birth. Trees played an important role for our European ancestors, the Celts. For them, trees were animated by gods and nature spirits. The Tree Circle Trail offers easy access to the fascinating world of trees and their undoubted powers and amazing abilities. We get to know the trees and learn to distinguish between them in a playful way. An ideal hike for families, which can also be hiked in several stages. Refreshment stops are available in Heuberg and at the Stockinger bakery and confectionery in Pyhra. At the end, we can treat ourselves to a swim in the Pyhra outdoor pool, right next to the starting point.

- Route description The clear orientation board at our starting point, the parking lot at the elementary school, shows us the route course as well as the position of the trees. From the parking lot, we turn towards the town center and walk slightly downhill to the early Gothic parish church. Directly past the church, stairs lead us down to the street behind it. We keep left and walk down the main street, cross the intersection with Josef Sperlbauer Street straight ahead, and soon turn right into Kirchenbühelgasse (marked P1 blue/white), which leads into a field path. We now hike the field path uphill to the left, along the northern settlement with a beautiful view down to Pyhra. After the end of the settlement, we keep right and after about 100 meters turn left at the edge of the forest into the woods. After a short piece of forest, we come via a field path to the main road, which we cross diagonally to reach the district of Getzersdorf via another field path. Again, in Getzersdorf, we cross the main road diagonally to reach the chestnut in the tree circle. Immediately afterwards, we turn left into a field path that takes us down to the nearby forest. Between a bench and a crossroads, we enter the forest. In the forest, at the first fork, we keep left, at the next, right; it goes down to a wooden bridge that lets us cross a small stream. After the little bridge, we go right to the fir and then left uphill to the edge of the forest. At the forest rim, we march to the transmission mast, which we can leave “on the left,” to reach Wieden on the right-hand side. Here, we cross the main road and walk down to the fields between the farms no. 6 and 7. Reaching the field, we go slightly uphill along the edge of the field to the right and then left up a field path. We hike this path eastward (left) to the apple tree and further to Heuberg up to Dr. C. Kupelw. Str. When we arrive, a possibility to take a break at the inn in Heuberg is offered on the right. However, our way continues left, past the sawmill, and at the next opportunity, right to the walnut tree. From now on, we hike along the Perschling riverbank to the sewage treatment plant. From here, the path leads left along Tümmelhofstraße and then left again into Aufeldstraße back into the town up to Dr. C. Kupelw. Str. We cross the street diagonally left and walk over Stegfeld and Erlenweg to the paved footpath, which leads us past the playground back to our starting point, the elementary school.
