Description
The first part takes us through a charming mixed forest and then we stroll along the gently meandering Stössingbach stream. There is a lot to discover in a small space and wonderful places to pause for a moment. This beautiful circular walk offers tranquillity and contemplation, but also space for 'little adventurers'.
The circular walk offers a lot of variety in a small area thanks to the beautiful mixed forest, species-rich hedges and the lovely Stössingbach stream, and we come to wonderful places. There are brief views of the Krausenberg and the Hegerberg. There are no significant climbs to contend with and so this route invites you to enjoy a leisurely stroll with plenty of opportunities to rest. The Tavern 'Cider Sepp' offers refreshments along the route. There is also an inn in the village.
- Equipment Normal hiking equipment
- Route description From the starting point, the parking lot of the parish church Kasten, we walk uphill along the street. After about 150 m, we turn right, following the signpost "Stilles Tal" into a residential street (marked white/blue/white). Soon this changes into a meadow path, which quickly leads into the mixed forest. Walking along the forest path, we pass the rest area 'Zum nodigen Wirt' and come to a view of the idyllic Landhaus Kaltofen. Here we descend to the right to the gravel road, which we follow downstream, passing the archery ground, along the main road. We now cross the street and go down to the Stössingbach before the bridge. Arriving at the creek, we follow the "Kastner Uferweg", always next to the Stössingbach, back to Kasten. About halfway, we can stop at the tavern 'Most Sepp', family Zöchling – see the signs. Refreshed, we continue along the riverside path to the tennis courts. In front of them, we walk gently uphill to the village center, cross the intersection, and return to our starting point.
