Hiking tour Starting from Castle Park Kirchberg an der Pielach
A short hike through Kirchberg an der Pielach. Highlights of this pleasure hike are the Skywalk viewing platform and of course the numerous dirndl bushes (cornelian cherry) along the way, which also give the Pielach Valley its name "Dirndl Valley".
A short hike through Kirchberg an der Pielach. Highlights of this pleasure hike are the Skywalk viewing platform and of course the numerous dirndl bushes (cornelian cherry) along the way, which also give the Pielach Valley its name "Dirndl Valley".
On a walk through the village, you can get to know the "Dirndl- und Genussrunde" of the Kirchberger Dirndlrunde.
Starting from the train station, there is valuable information about the history of the Mariazell Railway, the Dirndloase and Kirchberg Castle, the Jubilee Fountain, St. Nepomuk, the weir system and the floods in the village, Stations of the Cross in Kirchengasse, the old school and the parish church.
The start is in the castle park in Kirchberg. Then it goes over the Pielach through the town, past the church to the Skywalk. From the Skywalk you have a magnificent view over Kirchberg an der Pielach.
Then it continues through the row of cornelian cherry bushes, straight ahead to the Pielach. Along the Pielach, we hike back alongside numerous cornelian cherry bushes to the starting point.
The hike itself lasts about 30 minutes - but we recommend planning around 1.5 hours here to fully enjoy the nature.
There are sufficient parking spaces available at the castle park.
The row of cornelian cherry varieties provides information about the cornelian cherry and about the shrub, the fruit, and the enjoyable products. View from the Skywalk over the valley.
