When choosing your route, make sure it’s appropriate for your fitness level. Check to see if the restaurants and cafes you plan to visit along the way are open. Pack your fully charged cell phone and maps in your backpack. For cross-border tours, please always carry a passport or ID card with you.

Route characteristics: 25% paved road, 40% forest road, 35% forest trail

Sturdy shoes, functional clothing, sun and rain protection, maps, trekking poles if needed, first-aid kit (blister bandages), and plenty of food (snacks, granola bars, fruit, water).

Together with the Sehweg and the Naturparkweg, this trail takes you through the village until you reach a dirt road. Then turn left and head downhill through the forest to “Eckerasch” and on to Reichenau am Freiwald. In the middle section of the route, the trail has a moderate incline and then continues along a well-maintained farm access road. From Reichenau, you’ll walk past the observation tower and take State Road L 8298 to Bad Großpertholz.
