Description
Circular hiking trail from Schwarzenbach an der Pielach - Steinschaler Dörfl - Eibeckalm - Taschlgraben - Ober-Windhag Unter-Windhag Obertal - Schwarzenbach

- Route description A beautiful, extensive hike partly on paved roads at the beginning and towards the end.You start from the town centre of Schwarzenbach and walk towards the edge of town and beyond, to the newly built sewage treatment plant. Then turn left, uphill on the asphalt road (signpost to "Steinschaler Dörfl") and follow it until you see a small pond next to the road on your left. A few meters further uphill, turn right onto a wide gravel road and reach the Dörfl. Below the "Steinschaler Dörfl" walk left past into the forest and follow the signs until you reach a house on a hill above the village. In front of the house, turn left and continue until you see a sign "Nixhöhle via Eibeck". Keep right and follow the path through woods with a gentle incline towards Eibeckalm. Past the Eibecksattel, you reach the alm. Upon arriving at the alm, you are rewarded with a great view towards Frankenfels. For the return, take the Pielachtal circular hiking trail (652). Here, you walk to Fischbächmühlrotte, where you join the LA 2015 hiking trail and continue below Grohmann towards Schwarzenbach. Between Taschlgrabenrotte and Ober Windhag, you get closer to your starting point, the town centre of Schwarzenbach. At Ober Windhag, keep left and follow the Pielachtal circular trail back to the town centre. Shortly before the end of the hike, you will see the Hubertus chapel on the left, one of the most beautiful of its kind.

- Getting there By car on the B39 towards Mariazell. After the Schö nau guesthouse (just before Frankenfels), turn left towards Schwarzenbach and follow the road.
- Public transport Take the Mariazellerbahn to Schwarzenbach station. In the summer months, a taxi service is available by prior arrangement (Mobile: 0664 103 30 15) that will take you to Schwarzenbach (6 km).
