Weather-appropriate hiking clothing. Definitely sturdy footwear.
The most challenging hike in our area, which definitely requires sturdy footwear.
From the village square, over the Pielach Bridge, the path leads around a house through the forest to the farm "Am Berg" and then mainly over alpine pastures to "Loicheck." There you will meet the long-distance trail 604A which follows the same route. Then begins the partly strenuous ascent to Eisenstein. After the forest section, you continue over the alpine pasture to the Julius-Seitner Hut. The return is along the same path to Schwarzenbach.
Parking spaces in the village center
On the B39 towards Mariazell, turn left after the Schönau inn (Frankenfels) towards "Schwarzenbach/Türnitz" and follow the road to Schwarzenbach.
