Sturdy shoes, functional clothing, sun and rain protection, maps, trekking poles if needed, first-aid kit (blister bandages), and plenty of food (snacks, granola bars, fruit, water).

It is recommended that you walk the trail counterclockwise, starting in the northeast. This way, you’ll tackle the steep section leading to the Bruchetbach effortlessly on a downhill slope. Open stretches and wooded areas are evenly balanced. The murmur of the Bruchetbach stream accompanies you for a long time as you hike comfortably along the flat forest road toward Wegscheid. Toward the end, near Thurnberg, the highlight awaits you: the magnificent view from the “Felsen” over Thurnberg to Lake Kampsee. Here, three benches invite you to take a break before you tackle the final stretch back to Idolsberg.
