Hiking tour Starting from Pitten Mountain Road
This spiritual and cultural circular pilgrimage trail at the gateway to the Bucklige Welt leads along easy paths, some with slight ascents, through a varied landscape and past places of interest. Some of them refer to the life and work of St. Francis of Assisi.
This spiritual and cultural circular pilgrimage trail at the gateway to the Bucklige Welt leads along easy paths, some with slight ascents, through a varied landscape and past places of interest. Some of them refer to the life and work of St. Francis of Assisi.
There is a long and a short route. The short route is around 12.3 kilometers long and the long route is around 37 kilometers long. The route leads from Pitten via Bad Erlach, Schwarzau, Lanzenkirchen, Katzelsdorf, Wiener Neustadt and back to Pitten. A wonderful pilgrimage path to pause for a moment. Guided tours are also possible.

Pitten: Bergstraße – Desbordesstiege (Schöpfungsweg) – Bergstraße (Mountain and Rock Church, Tower Museum) – Bergstraße – Burgweg (Pitten Castle / no tour)
Bad Erlach: Burgweg – Brombergerstraße – Hauptstraße (St. Anthony’s Church) – Uferweg – Drei Schritte Weg – Wiesengasse – Schleinzerweg (EuroVelo 9 Thermal Cycle Route)
Lanzenkirchen: Schleinzerweg (EuroVelo 9 Thermal Cycling Route) – Ofenbachstraße

From Vienna: Take the A2 toward Graz—take the Wiener Neustadt Süd (S4) exit toward the B54, then turn off toward Bad Erlach–Pitten
From Graz: A2, take the Seebenstein (Pitten) exit
