Gentle hike through hills, fields and charming villages
The starting point is the imposing Seitenstetten Benedictine Abbey, which has been the cultural heart of the region since the 12th century. The path leads east, past the mini golf course - a welcome opportunity for a playful break. You soon reach the cemetery church of St. Veit, where Seitenstetten was first mentioned in a document when it was founded. A historic place that invites you to pause for a moment. From the association center, the path leads over a small bridge that spans the Trefflingbach - an idyllic section that will delight nature lovers. The monument to the thousand-year-old oak, which commemorates the legendary thousand-year-old oak, is a symbol of endurance and the power of nature that invites you to pause and marvel.
Passing the Schippamühle sawmill and typical Mostviertel square farms, you can feel the rural flair. After a short stretch through a quiet wooded area, you reach the picturesque Schintinger Chapel - a place of silence and contemplation. The trail leads along the goods road to the scattered settlement of Hofing and along a gravel path you reach the Franzosenwald forest, where a forged cross commemorates the fallen soldiers in the Napoleonic Wars. Finally, the trail leads back to the Benedictine abbey in Seitenstetten.
None, the path sometimes runs along a creek, some road crossings have to be made
