- Route description At the beginning of the path, you first reach the picturesque town square of Haag with St. Michael parish church and the historic buildings. Each of these houses has a history panel attached. You now leave the town square via Stiegengasse, walk past orchards and the new settlements to the Salaberger Forest.Once you have arrived in the forest, you follow the "Weistrachersteg". Past the Weistrach cross (way cross) you reach the southern edge of the forest. Here you have a beautiful view towards Weistrach. In the background, the Alpine foothills appear. You continue in a north-east direction to the former Haag station in Hochwall. Before the bridge of the new railway, the path splits into a short (492a; 12.2 km) and a long (492; 17.7 km) route. Alternatively, the long path leads along orchards to the Kandlhoferholz. Here you have the opportunity to climb the highest point of Haag, the Markstein (420 m).The next destination is the adventure pool, which offers a refreshing cool-down during the summer months. To finish, you pass the leisure center (climbing tower, funcourt, …) and go under the old railway embankment back to the Mostviertelhalle.

- Public transport With the train stop "Stadt Haag" an uncomplicated public arrival is possible.
- Editor’s tip Pay attention to the little things, many wonderful natural spectacles and atmospheres can be discovered in the Salaberger Forest and the orchards. The hiking route is especially recommended during the tree blossom season (April/May).
