Description
Easy hike up the Hirschenkogel to the Millenium viewing platform.
- Equipment Always take maps with you. Wear sturdy shoes suitable for the tour, take sun and rain protection with you as well as water and a snack. Take your mobile phone with you and save the emergency number for mountain rescue: 140
- Parking Public parking spaces available at the top of the Semmering Pass
- Getting there From Vienna, take the A2 Südautobahn to the S6 Semmering-Schnellstraße and take the Maria Schutz exit. Turn right onto L4168. Continue on Semmering/L4168. From Graz take the S6 Semmering motorway and exit at Spital/Semmering. Turn left onto Semmering Ersatz Str./B306. Continue on B306. At the roundabout drive straight ahead to Semmering.
- Public transport Travel by train to Semmering station. You can hike from the station to the hiking starting point (Semmering Pass) in approx. 25 minutes. Alternatively, you can book a ride on the RUFbus Semmering-Rax, which will take you to the hiking starting point.
