Description

Hikers and those seeking relaxation will find ideal conditions in Furth for short breaks and excursions away from the hustle and bustle with wonderful routes into the Gutenstein Alps and Lower Austrian Pre-Alps. This is why countless hiking trails, including the historic Viennese pilgrimage route, lead through the beautiful municipality.

In recent years, several farms in Furth have decided to sell their own products directly on the farm, resulting in the family-friendly Hofladen Niemtal Genuss Wanderung from farm store to farm store.

The first farm store on our hike is located right in the center of Furth. The Lechner Kirchenkrenn family sells under the brand name MagMan(Magdalena+Manfred), the Lechner Kirchenkrenn family sell their own products from their chickens, cattle and pigs, as well as culinary delights from the garden, 7 days a week, around the clock. After a short stretch of the Viennese pilgrims' path, you reach the very idyllic Niemtal valley via the Rehgras - a gentle hill through meadows and forests, where you will find 3 direct marketers. Niemtal 1a is the first farm store to be established in Furth: the Reischer family runs "s'Gschäft am Hof" and will be selling homemade bread, delicious pastries, tasty spreads and a wide variety of sausages and meat products every 3rd Saturday of the month from January 2022. As the farm store is currently being renovated, deliveries are made to order. Just 2 houses down Niemtal 2a is the Andrähof, which regularly sells its fine brandies and liqueurs as well as game and lamb from the farm. At the Hüdahof(Niemtal 4) you can not only buy delicious Dirndl products, special mustard and home-made teas, but also spend the night in a beautifully renovated 80 m2 vacation apartment. 2 horses and 1 donkey make children's eyes light up. From Niemtal, you can reach Maierhof, where the Lechner Schaupp family run their lovingly designed farm store, via the Viennese pilgrims' path and a wonderful view of meadows, forests and mountains. Schauppi DAS KUH'LE EIS is best known for its homemade ice cream, yogurt and other delicacies. The self-service store is open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and delights young and old alike with melt-in-the-mouth ice cream flavors. From there, you can return to Furth - the starting point of our hike - via the Wiener Wallfahrerweg.

Heading south in the Ebeltal valley, after an equally short walk, you will find the farm store in the Schaupp family's large chicken coop called "Ebeltaler delicacies". Tasty free-range eggs, as well as homemade egg liqueur, homemade tractor noodles and many other products are available for sale here every day and around the clock.
