From the Rosenburg train station, walk a short distance along the B34, then turn right and cross the Taffa Bridge toward Lausgraben. After passing the ravine, turn left onto a paved dirt road toward Mold and then walk under the B4. In Mold, at the intersection where the Riesenstein is located, turn slightly right onto a municipal road and walk uphill between the fields toward Maria Dreieichen. There, cross the B2 and take a break at the Gasthof Kirchenwirt or the Gasthof zur Eiche.
Then walk down the Way of the Cross to the Bründl Chapel and Grasel Cave. From there, continue straight ahead uphill for a short distance and then follow the beautiful Trail No. 663 for about 1 km to the Jägerkreuz. There, turn left and walk down through the large forest clearing at Eichberg toward Breiteneich. At the northern end of the village, cross the street, walk along the castle wall, and then cross the railroad tracks. About 1 km up the farm road, you can take a detour to the Prussian Cemetery (a small iron cross commemorating the Prussian soldiers who died of cholera during the 1866 campaign in Horn). Otherwise, continue following the path downhill, keep right at the dirt road intersection at the bottom, and shortly afterward, turn left into the tree-lined avenue at the spring protection area. Following this path, you’ll walk along the Mödringbach stream into the district town of Horn. There, cross the B45, head slightly left along the stream, and then, in front of Horn Castle, turn left downhill toward the municipal wastewater treatment plant, where you can stop for a final break at the former brewery just before reaching it—a perfect spot to rest before heading back through the romantic Taffa Valley. You’ll then follow the Taffa along the left bank and, after about 500 meters, reach a rock face, after which you’ll cross the Mühlbach and, shortly afterward, the Taffa. The trail now leads you along the right bank of the river, past the former mills, and back to Rosenburg.
