Description
Whether you are coming from St. Pölten or Mariazell, the tour starts with a ride on the historic Himmelstreppe to Gösing. The trail starts directly below the Alpenhotel Gösing (temporarily closed) and leads downhill through an enchanted forest to Erlaufboden. After a short stretch along the road, the imposing Hintere Tormäuer begin - a gorge formed by the turquoise-blue Erlauf. Continuing along the river, you reach the Wienerbruck power station after just over an hour. A detour to the power station is definitely worthwhile! With the Lassing Falls always within sight and earshot, you have to conquer around 170 meters in altitude on former woodcutters' paths and through rock caves until you reach the Wienebruck reservoir, where you can stop for refreshments at the Seegasthaus.
