Gravelbike-Tour Laaben Tal

Before every ride, check that the brakes and tires are in good working order. Always ride with an eye out for hazards and at a controlled speed, and choose a route that suits the group’s riding ability and the weather conditions. The Fair Play rules apply in the forest, and you must follow the State Traffic Regulations (StVo). If you encounter rocks, roots, or steep sections along the route, simply dismount and walk your bike if in doubt.

A safe and roadworthy gravel bike or equivalent bicycle is required for all routes. Road bikes or other bikes with narrow and/or smooth tires are not suitable. A helmet and gloves provide protection in the event of a fall. Tools, a tire lever, a pump, and a spare inner tube will help in case of a flat tire. You should also bring plenty of food and drink, as well as a cell phone and a windbreaker or rain jacket.

We start in Neulengbach at the BORG and ride along the Laabental Bike Trail toward Laaben. In Laaben, just before the Angemühle, we take a sharp left, follow the L119, and take the second right. After turning right, we follow the road straight ahead and take another sharp left at the next intersection. The road leads us to the L110, where we turn right and then take the second left. We pass the Wienerwald Golf Club, the Falkensteinerhütte, and ride through Hasenriegel. We cross the highway via the bridge and continue on to Hochstraß. Follow the road straight ahead until we cross the main street in Rekawinkel and continue on. After a while, we turn left, then right, and then left again, following the road back to the starting point in Neulengbach.

Please be mindful of short-term parking zones, paid parking, and private property!

Take the train to the "Neulengbach Stadt" stop. The starting point is a 3-minute bike ride away.

With a few short detours, there are also some sights worth seeing along the route. For example, the Neulengbach Castleand the Falkensteinerhütte, the Buchbergwarte or the St. Christophen Pilgrimage Church.
