Route characteristics: 85% asphalt, 15% forest trail

Heading away from the Moorheilbad on an asphalt road, you’ll reach the village of Harbach after about 1 km. When you reach the intersection, turn left and continue past the Harbach Volunteer Fire Department station. After about 250 m, at the fork in the road, keep left. You’ll pass the wayside cross, which is also visited during the “Felderbeten.” During the Felderbeten—an old custom—the locals pray to God for protection for their fields and homes. Afterward, you’ll hike between meadows and fields toward the edge of the forest. From here, the trail continues on flat, shaded forest ground to the border crossing into the Czech Republic and the “Milestone of Peace.” After a short rest at the stone spiral, you’ll head back toward the village on the paved road.

When you reach the intersection near the fire station, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the village. Here you’ll find a department store, the municipal office, and a few places to stop for a bite to eat.
