Großer St. Aegyder Rundwanderweg

From St. Aegyd Market Square along the Mitterböck Promenade, past the moated castle to the Grillenbühel. Follow the ridge across the Grillenbühel, turn left at the end, and reach the Rotenbach Valley via the Härterfelsen. Turn right onto the paved road and head through “Maxbauer” to the end of the valley. To the left of the “Scheikl” house, cross the Scheikl-Höhe into the Wällischgrabental valley, then continue via “Hinteregger” on the paved road to “Unterort.” Here, leave the road via Wiesenboden and follow a forest trail to the meadow to the right of the railroad bridge. At the end of the meadow, there’s a short climb into the forest (10 hm) and across the entire Schönfeld to the center of Kernhof. Passing the Gnedt Inn, you reach Thalerl, go past the former Hoyos sawmill, and follow the paved road to “Raintaler.” Take a short stretch on a forest trail, then turn left and follow the ridge to the Lurger-Bergerl (short climb—bench). Head downhill along a forest path into the Weißenbach Valley, past “Holzhof” and “Brandstatt,” through “Lampenhof” and “Vorntaler”; turn left at the Grießhof, then right again after 100 m into the Jungwald. Then continue across meadowland, past “Ebenbauer” and the vacation village, turning left over the former ski jump to the Klaushoferhöhe. Then proceed via the forest fairground to the war memorial and across the church square back to the starting point at the market square.

A1, St. Pölten Süd exit – B 20 toward Mariazell – after Lilienfeld, turn left in Maierhof onto the B 214 – keep right toward St. Aegyd/Neuwalde – St. Aegyd town square
