The total 39 km circular hike "G´schichten aus dem Wienerwald. The hiking trail" tells, in two scenically varied stages, about the cultural and historical importance of this special region in the midst of the Biosphere Park Wienerwald.
The start of the 1st stage is in Baden and leads along the often-sung romantic "path in the Helenental" along the Schwechat to Alland, where the 2nd stage leads back to Baden via Heiligenkreuz and Siegenfeld.
Excursion destinations such as those in the imperial city of Baden, Stift Heiligenkreuz or the Carmel Mayerling are only a few of the many highlights, described at a total of 35 stations through interesting anecdotes by the author Gabriele Hasmann.
Enjoyers will definitely get their money's worth on this hike; not only do numerous idyllic places entice, but also several traditional hosts invite you to linger and enjoy culinary delights.
Attention children! Families can look forward to three very special "sniffer rounds" along the circular hike. These shorter routes adapted for children, each starting from Baden, Heiligenkreuz, and Alland, delight playfully with exciting discoveries around the "G´schichten aus dem Wienerwald".

- Route description We march back again directly next to the Schwechat downstream to Mayerling. Passing the fateful castle, we walk from here on the long-distance hiking trail (Via Sacra, 01, 06) to Heiligenkreuz. Continuing east, past the Cistercian monastery, and leaving the long-distance trail at the edge of the town. Now we turn right onto the Siegenfeldweg, follow the yellow marking to the White Cross and then come to Rosental and down into the Helenental via the Schwarzberg (blue). Upon reaching the federal road B210, we only walk a short section back up the country road, but immediately turn right next to the Purbach and continue to follow the yellow marking. About 350 m after the Jugendbrunnen, we turn left towards the Theresienwarte (magnificent view). Then we go down to the Rudolfshof and back to the starting point via hiking trail 40.
