Description
The hike starts at the Schlosswirtshaus Krumbach inn. The hike up the Kraxenberg leads through the Hauswald forest, over the Lahmbach stream and past numerous farmhouses and "Edelbrände Kölbel". Over the ridge of the Kraxenberg you pass a chapel and can enjoy nature and the view. After the hike, you can stop for refreshments at the Schlosswirtshaus or look down to Krumbach. It takes less than an hour to walk to the Gasthof Heissenberger, Piri's Gasthaus or Krumbacherhof. If you have booked in advance, you can also indulge in culinary delights at the nearby Triad.
There are also many hiking options from the castle, for example on a regional route of the Weg am Wiener Alpenbogen - Arc of the Viennese Alps (trail).

- Route description The starting point of the hike is the Schlosswirtshaus. From there, follow the violet markers. Turn right onto the Hauswald forest road and follow the Hauswald path. At the fork, turn right towards "Kraxenberg – Kölbel Edelbrände", continue to the stream, cross it, after about 200 meters cross the stream again and continue right towards "Kraxenberg Kölbel Edelbrände". Going up the forest path, you will reach an asphalt road above near the farmhouse "Mirtl". At the fork, turn left towards "Kölbel – Edelbrände". At the farmhouse, follow the signs on the right towards "Unterhaus". At the last farmhouse, where the asphalt ends, pass above the house and go straight along the field path until it goes down to the forest path. After the forest path, keep left at the field, down to the Zöberntal cycle path, turn right to Schloss Straße and then right up to the starting point Schlosswirtshaus, follow the violet and orange markers!

- Getting there From Vienna: Take the Südautobahn A2, exit Krumbach. Continue to Krumbach junction. Continue on Kirchschlager Str./B55. Turn right onto L137. Slight left onto Schlossstraße. Continue on Schloss Straße until Schlosswirtshaus Krumbach.From Graz: Take the Südautobahn A2, exit Aspang-Zöbern. Turn right onto L137. Continue on Kampichl and Hauptstraße. Hauptstraße turns left in Zöbern and becomes Austraße. Follow L137 to Unterhaus near Krumbach and turn sharply right onto Schlossstraße. Continue on Schloss Straße until Schlosswirtshaus Krumbach.
