Description
The ascent from St. Corona to the Franz-Kaupe-Haus (former Herrgottschnitzerhütte) offers plenty of nature, variety and refreshment stops. You start at Gasthof Orthof. Through forests and across alpine meadows, the trail climbs comfortably and in between you will encounter grazing cows. There are also some beautiful viewpoints with views of the Schneeberg and the surrounding area. The path to the Franz-Kaupe-Haus also crosses the "Family adventure trail on the Kampstein", where there are various play stations for children. The Franz Kaupe House is reached at an altitude of 1318 meters. After the death of long-time ÖTV chairman Franz Kaupe, the Herrgottschnitzerhütte was renamed after him for his services. Delicious pastries and huskies belonging to the hut owner await you at the hut. Numerous hiking trails also lead away from the Franz-Kaupe-Haus, such as the hike to the Kampstein summit at 1467m.
Alternative ascent options lead from St. Peter at the fire station via the green-yellow markings up the slope or via the forest path between St. Peter and Unternberg.

Continue on B54 via Kirchberg am Wechsel to St. Corona am Wechsel.From Graz: Take the South Motorway A2 to exit 81 Aspang Markt. Continue on B54 via Aspang Markt and Unternberg to St. Corona am Wechsel.From Bruck/Mur: Take the S6 Semmering expressway to exit Gloggnitz. Continue via Kirchberg am Wechsel to St. Corona am Wechsel.
- Public transport Take the regional train from Wr. Neustadt main station (direction Aspang-Markt) to the final stop, Aspang station.
