Description

The Neunkirchner Haus is located at 758 meters above sea level on the Kranzstetten and is open all year round at weekends. In the immediate vicinity of the Flatzer Wand, the hut can also be reached via various via ferratas, with more than 100 climbing tours. The Flatzer Wand also offers a large number of caves. The Neunkirchner Haus is of course also easily accessible from Flatz via hiking trails. If you're hungry, this is the place for you, as the roast pork is served in an XXL version. The hut is also located in the Sierningtal-Flatzer Wand Nature Park. In the 16 km2 nature reserve, there are hiking trails, mountain bike trails (for example the Kettenlus trail), children's playgrounds, animal enclosures, ponds, fitness trails, over 300 rest areas and a lookout point. The Neunkirchner Haus can also be reached from Stixenstein. The nature park center animal enclosure is located here.

Route description Our route follows the green marking. We start westwards over Wandstraße. At the left curve into Gösinggasse towards Waldbauer, we turn right onto the path. We keep straight ahead until we reach a crossroads at 720 meters altitude. Here we turn right uphill and continue to keep right until we reach the Neunkirchner House.
Parking No larger parking lot available in Flatz. Park on the roadside or at a wine tavern.
Getting there From Vienna: Take the A2 South Motorway exit Neunkirchen East and merge towards Neunkirchen-East/Wr.Neustadt center. Drive on Neunkirchner Straße/B17. In Neunkirchen turn right onto Rohrbacherstraße/B26. Turn right onto Mahrersdorfer Straße. Turn right onto St. Lorenzer Straße. Keep left and continue on Flatzer Straße to Flatz. From Graz: Take the A2 to S6 and take exit Neunkirchen. At Neunkirchen exit drive towards Neunkirchen/B17. Continue on Neunkirchen junction. Turn right onto Semmeringstraße/B17. Turn left onto Rohrbacherstraße/B26. Turn right onto Mahrersdorfer Straße. Turn right onto St. Lorenzer Straße. Keep left and continue on Flatzer Straße to Flatz.
Public transport Take the Southern Railway (direction Payerbach-Reichenau) to Ternitz station. From here continue with regional bus 1722 (direction St. Lorenzen am Steinfeld) to Flatz street intersection East.
