Description
This family-friendly loop starts at Eckartsau Castle and leads south through the Au onto the Danube cycle path (EV6). Follow this in a westerly direction for approx. 6 km to the junction to Orth an der Donau. From there, turn right to Orth an der Donau, ride past the castle and the National Park Center and back to Eckartsau via little-used agricultural roads. The castles of Eckartsau and Orth an der Donau are highly recommended as sightseeing tips.

- Route description Starting from Schloss Eckartsau, the route leads westwards along the Danube Cycle Path (Euro Velo 6) through the Donau-Auen National Park to Schloss Orth. On an area of 9,600 ha, the last large river floodplain landscape of Central Europe stretches here – an impressive natural area and the perfect backdrop for this leisurely family route. From Schloss Orth, you return to the starting point via field paths. At both castles, nature-oriented playgrounds invite you to linger and explore.
