Orchard meadows are easy to recognize because the tall fruit trees grow "scattered" in the landscape and, in contrast to intensively cultivated orchards, have often found their own place in the landscape. The circular hiking trail is divided into a total of 12 stops: 12 farms featuring different apple varieties introduce themselves. At each farm, there is a large information board that identifies the specific apple variety.

Along the route, there are several interesting direct-sales vendors and small businesses. At the Zierlinger family’s quail farm (House No. 16), for example, you can buy fresh quail eggs. Along the route, you’ll pass the Freudenthaler family’s horse farm. The trail continues to the Emilienhof (House No. 60). Here, on the property of Elisabeth and Leo Reiter, a variety of organic flowers and herbs are grown and arranged into creative bouquets and wreaths. The guesthouse “Zur alten Buche,” run by Michaela and Gerhard Dörr, invites you to spend the night in a lovingly restored farmhouse.
The Apple Varieties Trail also passes right by the Zierlinger family’s quail farm—House No. 16—where you can buy fresh quail eggs. You’ll also pass right by the Freudenthaler family’s horse farm—House No. 19. Another stop on the Apple Varieties Trail is House No. 62—owned by Petra and Mario Wunsch—where craniosacral therapy is offered on-site. At the Emilienhof—House No. 60, owned by Elisabeth and Leo Reiter—a colorful variety of organic flowers and herbs grows. They arrange the abundance of blooms and aromatic herbs into creative bouquets and wreaths. They also grow a rich selection of edible flowers. You can also stay overnight at the guesthouse “Zur alten Buche” (House No. 4), owned by Michaela and Gerhard Dörr, a lovingly restored farmhouse.
