Starting in Drasenhofen, the hiking trail winds through the picturesque wine cellar lanes of the Weinviertel region and past numerous churches all the way to Krems on the Danube. The route includes paved roads, gravel paths, and dirt trails. Time and again, you’ll be treated to sweeping views of the countryside. Here, in Austria’s largest wine-growing region, you can truly get a taste of the pilgrimage experience.

Please note that the Way of St. James is NOT entirely accessible by bicycle. It is also not permitted everywhere to travel the route on horseback.
