Description
The market town of Hohenwarth-Mühlbach on the Manhartsberg has a very special character, situated in the beautiful transitional landscape from the Waldviertel to the Weinviertel, between the Manhartsberg, Schmidatal and Wagram. Gently rolling hills, lush greenery from the forests of the Manhartsberg and vineyards that produce excellent wines. Buschenschank (typical taverns), wine festivals with open cellar doors, wine tastings and wine culinary delights invite you to linger. The birthplace of the dialect poet Joseph Misson (1803-1875) in Mühlbach is well worth a visit, with a mixture of historical collection, contemporary art and library, it shows the region's path through the centuries. The Romanesque church towering high above Hohenwarth, Mühlbach Castle with its revitalized Baroque garden and English landscape park and the "Hiata-Hut" in Ebersbrunn are further worthwhile Excursion destinations.
