Kamptalbahn - get on board and experience the Waldviertel

Nostalgic Waldviertel trip: the historically significant Kamptalbahn railroad takes you past the region's most beautiful sights.

The Kamptalbahn, which opened in 1889, takes its guests along the banks of the Kamp through idyllic wine-growing landscapes, over an original steel truss bridge - and past popular Excursion destinations such as Rosenburg or Kamptalwarte. On its 43-kilometer route, it connects Hadersdorf am Kamp with Horn and Sigmundsherberg.

Please note: Last year, work began on the Kamptalbahn for a comprehensive modernization. An intensive phase will now begin at the start of September 2023, for which the entire route from Hadersdorf to Sigmundsherberg will be closed for around three months.
