Description
The route of this hiking trail is sufficiently and well signposted by means of yellow metal signs with the inscription Klosterhofweg 90, relatively flat course, on the 9 km long route there are only 60 hm to manage.

- Equipment Sturdy footwear, functional clothing, sun and rain protection, map material, if necessary telescopic poles, first aid kit (blister plasters), sufficient provisions (snack, muesli bars, fruit, water).
- Route description Leaving the historic town center, the path leads past the beautiful single-family houses of the Edenbühel settlement to the idyllic recreational pond with a place to stop for refreshments. There you will find, in addition to a large sunbathing lawn, a beach volleyball court and a playground with climbing equipment. The path continues to the village of Eisengraben. Now the Baumgartenweg winds through the fields into the valley to Neuwirtshaus, where the Staar guesthouse invites you to rest in a cozy atmosphere. In the shade of the forest, you hike along the bank of the Reislingbach. After a short climb, you reach open fields again and return through Eisengraben to the starting point of your hike. There, the Schlosstaverne Kargl awaits you for refreshments. The local history museum and Jaidhof Castle also look forward to your visit by appointment.

- Getting there From Vienna A 22 and S 5 or A 1 and S 33 to Krems and on B 37 to Gföhl, then turn right to Jaidhof.
- Public transport The nearest train station is Krems/Donau, from there there are bus connections to Gföhl or Jaidhof.All information about all bus and train lines to Waldviertel can be found at www.vor.at or at www.oebb.at.
- Editor’s tip Place to stop for refreshments in Jaidhof, in the Schlosstaverne Kargl; also worth seeing are the Jaidhof local history museum and Jaidhof Castle.This route is also excellently suited as a running route and can, of course, also be cycled, as there are no major climbs to overcome.
