Description
This panoramic tour is best ridden on an e-bike, but is also suitable for ambitious cyclists who are looking for a short but challenging tour. The route leads to the Kollmitzberg, located between Amstetten and Ardagger.
The pilgrimage church of St. Ottilie on the hilltop - the worthwhile intermediate destination of the tour - can be seen from afar. Once at the top, a 360° view invites you to enjoy and linger. The view sweeps from the Alpine chain across the Danube region to the Mühlviertel and Waldviertel.
Note: The cycle route is signposted in both directions and can also be cycled in the other direction.

- Route description Starting from the Ardagger Abbey, the bike route gently descends to Ardagger Market, then continues flat for several kilometers along the Danube. After that, the steepest section of the route leads up to the Ottilienkirche Kollmitzberg, culminating in a stunning panoramic view far beyond the Danube.From Kollmitzberg, it rolls comfortably to Viehdorf and then somewhat hilly back to the starting point at Ardagger Abbey. The bike route is marked with the sign "Kollmitzberg-Radroute" and a dark blue color bar on the sign as well as on the map material.Attention: partly steep descent sections.

- Getting there Exit the Westautobahn A1 at Amstetten-West and take Greiner Straße (L119) to Ardagger Abbey.
- Public transport Arrival via Amstetten train station with connection to the Mostbaron bike route towards Dingfurt or Viehdorf.
- Editor’s tip Be sure to allow enough time to enjoy the wonderful view. Tip for refreshments: Gasthaus zum Alpenblick (with a scenic terrace)
