Description
Starting from the idyllic Ötscher village of Lackenhof, follow the marked hiking trail no. 4/4b-16 over the Riffelsattel and on through the wild and romantic "Türndlmäuer" to the Feldwiesalm. We recommend stopping off at the hut here to recharge your batteries. After a rest, the trail continues towards the Gemeindealpe, Eiserner Herrgott and Brunnsteinalm. On a stony path downhill, past the source of the Erlauf through the Steinbachgraben to the Lindenhof, you will find Gasthof Seewirt am Erlaufsee.

- Route description Variant A: Lackenhof Weitental - from the Ötscherlift valley station via the marked path (No. 5a) to Riffelboden. Here you leave the forest road straight ahead. The path leads after a short walk to the new Ötscher family descent and continues on the left side of the descent, up the embankment into the shady forest. After many switchbacks and a steep ascent, you reach a side branch of the descent. It continues there, to later reach the Riffelsattel via a forest path on the right (1283 m above sea level), an important crossroads! Direction Türndlmauer to Feldwiesalm.(Alternative Variant B to Feldwiesalm: Start at 8:30 am, ascent with the chairlift to the Ötscher-Schutzhaus. Descend via hiking trail No. 4 (red marking) to Riffelsattel, then via hiking trail No. 4b towards smaller Ötscher in the direction of "Türndlmauer." Before Hocheckkogel, keep right and pass the more rugged Mittereckkogel past a cold spring to a forest road, along the forest road for about 10–15 minutes, then after a sharp right turn, left into the forest and ascent towards Jägerberg, descending over clearings in the hollow between Jägerberg and Sagerkogel to "Feldwies," along the forest road left in the forest and at the right curve straight through the pasture gate to the already visible Halter hut of Feldwiesalm.)After a break at the Halter hut, set off towards Gemeindealpe (trail marking red-blue), along the forest road after a wooded section take the right forest road (blue) and after about 100 m leave it to the left onto a footpath towards Eiserner Herrgott and Brunnsteinalm. At the fork turn left towards Erlaufsee (about 5 km left, 1 ¾ hours to Gasthof Seewirt).(Alternatively, you can also go right here via the farm "Höchbauer" (1255 m above sea level) towards Zellerrain. From here it is about 2 km or ¾ hour to Zellerrain.)From the junction before Brunnsteinalm through the saddle hollow to the forest road, cross it and go down diagonally into the forest on the right, at the next fork keep right (blue-red) and go steeply downhill on a rocky path to the dilapidated Engleitenalm by the Grubenmauer. Through the ditch to the hairpin bend at the former Schwaiger Alm and continue down the footpath to the clearing of the former Rohrbacher Alm and past the Erlauf spring (source stream of the Erlauf) through the Steinbach ditch out to Lindenhof, then right over the Erlauf to Gasthof Seewirt.
