Description
Alluvial path - Bärnkopf, No. 61 The alluvial path leads past the Schlesingerteich and Hubertusteich ponds. On the information boards along the route, you can learn more about the former wood flooding in the Weinsberg Forest.
- safety instructions Make sure that the route you choose suits your fitness. Check if the catering establishments you want to visit along the way are open. Pack your charged mobile phone and map material in your backpack. For cross-border routes, always carry a passport or identity card.
- Equipment Sturdy footwear, functional clothing, sun and rain protection, map material, if necessary telescopic poles, first aid kit (blister plasters), sufficient provisions (snack, muesli bars, fruit, water).
- Route description At the „marker tree“ all paths branch off from the village road towards the south. At an intersection with the overview boards, you go straight downhill. Soon you will see the water surface of the Schlesinger Pond. Past the campsite – here there is a fountain and a toilet – the hike continues onto a forest road. After about 800 meters, turn right towards Hubertus Pond. Before you reach the forest, you will see the remains of a log driving canal on the right side. Further uphill, you come to a clearing where an old sawmill stood until 1997, which was destroyed by the flood wave of the dam breach. You reach the dam crest of the Schlesinger Pond with the pond keeper's house via a steep path. Along the asphalt road, after about 700 meters, you come to our woodcutter museum, where you learn more about log driving and forestry before you immediately return to the starting point.
