The last stage of the long-distance hiking trail leads past imposing vineyards and castle ruins to the culturally lively center of Krems - magnificent panoramic views included!
The last stage of the Krems Valley ("Kremstal" in German) long-distance hiking trail is characterized by picturesque nature, impressive castle ruins and finally urban flair, promising pure variety. The starting point is the wine town of Senftenberg, whose castle ruins already offer a first worthwhile detour - the magnificent view over the Krems Valley ("Kremstal" in German) proves this convincingly. The hike continues through tranquil forests and steep wine terraces via Imbach with its magnificent Gothic parish church to another eye-catcher: the Rehberg ruins. Over the Kuhberg past the Schwarzalm inn to Krems, the final destination of the tour. The cultural offerings there invite you to linger: The Kunstmeile Krems, the Winzer Krems wine experience and the Landesgalerie Niederösterreich guarantee true cultural delights here. For those who prefer culinary delights, the numerous restaurants in the town offer the perfect opportunity to round off the hike in comfort.

Via the Upper and Lower Market, continue to Schulgasse, where we turn left and walk up to the parish church of Senftenberg. Once at the top, you shouldn't hesitate to take the 10-minute detour to the remarkable Senftenberg ruin with its magnificent view. Afterwards, it goes back down, above the well-known Ried Ehrenfels, past the Nigl winery. We cross the main road and also cross the Krems river via the footbridge, then hike through the district of Hofstatt to Imbach. Worth seeing is the parish church, which is less than 5 minutes off the route. The path continues along a quiet footpath on the right riverbank, leading us to Krems-Rehberg. There, turn right, going under the Rehberg ruin and past the church, then over the vineyard Partschen to the Alauner Landesstraße. This leads us in a southeastern direction through the vineyards Kühberg and Spiegel. Passing the guesthouse Schwarzalm with a wonderful view of the Danube, through the Armesündergraben down through the vineyard Wachtberg, we reach the stage destination Hoher Markt in Krems.
