The Manhartsberg cycle path: a tour that combines Waldviertel culture and viticulture - with fantastic panoramic views on top.
From Horn to Langenlois, the Manhartsberg cycle path leads through idyllic villages, natural forests and picturesque vineyards. But that's not all! The tour around the Manhartsberg also promises numerous stops worth seeing - as an encore along the way, so to speak. The Krahuletz Museum in Eggenburg, for example, brings long-gone history back to life, while Burgschleinitz Castle offers breathtaking views. Just a few kilometers away, the Amethyst World in Maissau imparts valuable knowledge about gemstones in a fun way. The worlds of pleasure in the Ursin Haus and in the Loisium WineWorld at the end of the tour in Langenlois round off the cultural and culinary offerings. And while local wines can be tasted to your heart's content in the wine shops, the accommodation at the destination offers the ideal opportunity for a relaxing end to the day.
Horn - Rodingersdorf - Klein Meiseldorf - Eggenburg - Burgschleinitz - Maissau - Eggendorf - Elsarn - Strass - Langenlois
The Manhartsberg Cycle Path leads from Horn to the southern Kamptal to Langenlois and can also be combined with the KTM Cycle Route as a circular route. With a total distance of 79.87 kilometers, the route is not quite easy. However, it is suitable in stages for pleasure cyclists and families.
The route begins in Horn and leads via Sigmundsherberg and Meiseldorf to Eggenburg, where the Krahuletzmuseum already invites a first stop. The next fixed point along the route is the market town of Burgschleinitz. Its namesake castle is certainly worth another break with its unique panoramic view. Just like the Amethyst World in Maissau a few kilometers further. From there, the cycle path leads to Elsarn, Strass, and Etsdorf am Kamp. The last stage finally runs from Grafenegg and Hadersdorf am Kamp to Langenlois, the endpoint of the route, where various wine taverns offer a pleasurable finale.
