Description
From Kirchberg, follow the road to the turn-off to the Ramssattel. Leave the road at the first left-hand bend. The path turns right and leads via Raach to Schlagl. Shortly afterwards you reach Maria Schutz, the most important place of pilgrimage in this region. There was already a chapel on the site of today's baroque church in the 17th century. It stood on the "Bründl spring", to which the sick were brought in the hope of being cured during a plague epidemic. From Maria Schutz, you hike downhill to Schottwien and then up to the Klammerkapelle chapel. On the "Bahnwanderweg" you follow the historic Semmering Railway, reach the village of Küb and then Payerbach.

- Route description We start in the town center of Kirchberg am Wechsel and head towards Rams. Our path leads us past the Ramswirt. We turn left onto Egg and continue on the hiking trail, which leads us straight ahead to Raach am Hochgebirge. We walk along the main road to Schlagl, where we turn left and then follow a hiking trail on the left past Schanzkapelle. At the next two intersections, we keep left and arrive at Göstritz. At the church Maria Schutz, we turn onto a hiking trail and go to Schottwien. Via the main road and the Klammerweg, we reach another hiking trail again. Through Kochhof, we reach Kreuzberg and then turn right to Küb. From here, the hiking trail leads us along the railway to Payerbach.
- Parking Parking lots at the Herrmannshöhle or in the town of Kirchberg a. W. along the parking guidance system.
- Getting there From Vienna take the A2 to exit 69-Edlitz. Take Wechsel Str./B54, L134, Feistritz am Wechsel, and Aussen to the market in Kirchberg am Wechsel. From Graz follow the S35 and S6, take the S6 exit Gloggnitz. Follow Höllental Str./B27. Take Graben, Wartenstein, and Otterthal to the market in Kirchberg am Wechsel.
- Public transport A train runs regularly from Wiener Neustadt station to Aspang station. Then continue by bus from Aspang to Kirchberg a. Wechsel. More information at www.oebb.at and www.vor.at
