From the Erlauftal valley through the Melk Alpine foothills into the Pielachtal valley.
The 42-kilometre Melker Alpenvorland cycle route branches off from the Erlauftal cycle path in Purgstall in the direction of the provincial capital of St. Pölten. The route runs via Oberndorf an der Melk, Mank, Kilb and Bischofstetten to Ober-Grafendorf, where the tour joins the Pielach Valley Cycle Route and continues to St. Pölten. The heart of the Alpenvorland cycle route is the 15 km long section of the Krumpe cycle path. Signposted connections and links also lead to the Roman Cycle Route and the Melktal Cycle Route.
