From the elementary school in Kirchschlag, the trail leads through the village of Kirchschlag and Kinings, then along a forest path to Merkengerst. After Gaßles there is a climb to Pleßberg where you can enjoy a wonderful view over the Kirchschlag municipal area and as far as the foothills of the Alps. Soon after, you pass Ottenschlag and the trail continues towards Haiden, where you can visit the Greßl poppy farm and the Kreutzer-Krautwurst inn. A forest path takes you back to Kirchschlag, where you can plan a visit to the pilgrimage church "Zum blauen Hergott" or a visit to the Kirchenwirt.

You can take Line 794 from Ottenschlag or Kottes, and Line 719 from Melk-Spitz-Mühldorf-Kottes to Kirchschlag/FF-Haus. This stop is not far from the Kirchschlag Elementary School.
