Description
From Lunz, follow the Erlauftal cycle path via Pfaffenschlag to Gaming, where the first highlight awaits with the Charterhouse. Then follow the small Erlauftal cycle path towards Gresten until shortly after Brettl, from where you cycle through the Wiesergraben and Zogelsgraben with little traffic on the small Ybbstal cycle path. Passing the cute Maria Seesal, you reach Ybbsitz, one of the "main towns" on the Iron Road.
You can see the blacksmith's trade on the roadside as you cycle from Ybbsitz up into the Prollingtal - a wonderfully situated plateau. A short descent is followed by a somewhat steeper kilometer to the top of the "Große Kripp" before you complete the well-deserved descent down into the Ybbstal valley to St. Georgen am Reith.
From there, you follow the Ybbstal cycle path comfortably upstream and return to the starting point in Lunz am See via Kogelsbach and Göstling an der Ybbs.

- Route description From Lunz on the Erlauftal cycle path towards Pfaffenschlag - 5km with a max. 6% ascent. Then 5km descent with a max. 9% gradient. Shortly before Gaming downhill on the main road to the charterhouse and through Gaming. 2km after leaving the village turn left onto the small Erlauftal cycle path towards Gresten. 3km with a maximum 4% long ascent to Brettl, then briefly flat and slightly descending to the junction left towards Maria Seesal/Wiesergraben. Follow this, from slightly rising up to max. 8% at the end of the 5km climb. Well visible and slight downhill stretch in the Zogelsgraben to Maria Seesal and further downstream towards Ybbsitz. The last 3km to Ybbsitz on the main road into town. There turn left onto the state road towards Göstling/Ybbs or St. Georgen/Reith. At the edge of Ybbsitz follow 600m with a max. 14% ascent before you ride over some smaller waves for about 8km in the Prolling high valley to the Kleine Kripp. A short steep downhill with two curves and immediately into the counter-ascent over one kilometer with a max. 15% up to the Große Kripp. Immediately afterwards almost 3km downhill with max. 10%, relatively straight and thus possible at higher speed. Well visible, good asphalt, no confusing curves. At the bottom of the Ybbstal turn left and follow the Ybbstal cycle path flat upstream - through/across Kogelsbach and Göstling back to Lunz am See.
