Description
The scenic tour to the Muckenkogel starts in the center of Lilienfeld at the municipal office, directly on the Traisental cycle route. To start cycling, we cross the Traisenbrücke bridge, the B20 and the railroad, leave Lilienfeld Abbey (worth seeing!) on the left and cycle past fish ponds and meadows as we approach Lilienfeld's local mountain. Now really uphill, we pass several refreshment stops, first to the Billensteiner snack station, then to the Lilienfelder hut, after a possible detour to the Klosteralm we pass the summit station of the lift, the transmitter on the Muckenkogel and reach the cozy Traisnerhütte on the Hinteralm after a total of around 900 metres in altitude.
After sufficient refreshments and enjoying a few rays of sunshine on the hut terrace, we return to the starting point along the same route.
After completing the tour, we recommend finishing in the cozy Salettl, sitting directly on the Traisen, opposite the municipal office!
