Pleasant circular route on the Hohe Wand with a view all the way to the Schneeberg. NOTE: Beware, this winter hiking trail may not be completely cleared in snowy conditions and can have slippery spots. Use is at your own risk! Make sure to have suitable equipment such as sturdy shoes, poles, waterproof outdoor clothing, headgear, etc. Also drink enough water in winter! Pay attention to early dusk and plan your routes particularly carefully!

Description
The Naturpark Hohe Wand with its many hiking and walking paths is the ideal excursion destination for the whole family. The Schneebergblick loop offers a pleasant circular route leading to the 18m high lookout tower, with views of Schneeberg, Dürre Wand, Unterberg, and with some luck even as far as the Neusiedler See. Animal encounters await at the enclosure where llamas and mouflons welcome petting. At the starting point, Naturparkstüberl, you can learn about the history of life on the Hohe Wand in the alpine and homeland museum and enjoy some refreshments. And of course, don’t forget the play and fun hill, where children can live like a marmot, climb like a goat, and let off steam. In snowy conditions, the play and fun hill becomes a tobogganing hill. The Schneebergblick circular route is cleared in winter.

- Route description From the parking lot we cross the street, at the Naturparkstüberl turn right towards the llamas and mouflons. We then follow the pleasant path to the chamois feeding area. We walk a bit uphill to the panoramic view from the 18m high lookout tower. We return along the wide path back to the Naturparkstüberl.

- Getting there From the direction of Vienna1) A2 – Exit Wöllersdorf – right B21 towards Gutenstein – turn off towards Dreistetten – Muthmannsdorf – Emmerberg – Gaaden – Stollhof – year-round on the mountain road to the Hohe Wand plateau 2) A2 – Exit Wiener Neustadt West – Weikersdorf – Winzendorf – Emmerberg – Gaaden – Stollhof – Hohe WandFrom the direction of Graz3) From Neunkirchen – Würflach – Willendorf – Höflein – Zweiersdorf – Maiersdorf – Hohe Wand
- Public transport Take the Southern Railway from Vienna or Graz to Wiener Neustadt – from there continue by regional train towards Puchberg am Schneeberg or by bus to Winzendorf – from Winzendorf you can hike through the Prosset Gorge to Maiersdorf (5km), from where you can hike up to the Hohe Wand in about 1 hour via different ascents. Or change trains in Wiener Neustadt towards Puchberg am Schneeberg – exit at Grünbach am Schneeberg – via the blue-marked Grafenberg trail, you will reach the plateau and the Wilhelm Eicher hut in about 1.5 hours. Furthermore, you can take the Gutenstein Railway (from Wr. Neustadt station) to Oberpiesting or Waldegg and hike to the Hohe Wand from the back side.More information at www.oebb.at and www.vor.at
