From the idyllically situated hiking and recreation village of Furth, there are several tours to the 1000-meter peaks of the Gutenstein Alps and the Lower Alps. Voralpen - such as Hocheck, Kieneck and Almesbrunnerberg. A hiking highlight of the municipality is the "Steinwand Gorge", which is crossed on this hike. Depending on the water level, the gorge may or may not be rushing, but the crossing is definitely impressive due to the rocky scenery, footbridges, stairs and ladders. Back from the hike, Furth lives up to its name "Valley of Innkeepers", as a wide range of culinary delights round off the nature experience.

Description
This "romantic gorge hike" leads through the Steinwandklamm gorge, which was opened on June 8, 1884.
The Steinwandklamm, one of the most beautiful gorges in eastern Austria, is crossed on the easier variant, on footbridges and steps. At the end of the gorge, you turn left to reach the Türkenloch on a hiking trail. Crossing the cave makes the hike even more interesting.
As a more difficult option, you can also take the R. Decker via ferrata (via ferrata A/B, built in 1927), which is partly airy and exposed and leads through the walls and several caves.
The described way back leads across a large meadow with a great view of the Schneeberg. Towards the end of the tour, there is a refreshment stop at the Jagasitz (saddle between Piestingtal and Triestingtal) or at the end of the hike at the parking lot (Reischer snack station).

- Route description From the parking lot (overview board, signpost, 540 m above sea level) follow the sign "Hiking world Steinwandklamm" marked in blue to the upper end of the parking lot. Hut with information and cashier (adults 5 €, children 1.50 €). After the turnstile, follow the gravel path along the slope to the stream and then along it until a bridge leads to the other side of the stream in the forest. Continue on a good, flat path to the entrance of the Steinwandklamm, which you reach after 0.7 km. For 0.3 km, follow the stairs and boardwalks through the gorge, always along the stream (which is often dry), between moss-covered rock walls and under rock overhangs. Rock steps are overcome by stairs, with flat sections in between. (After 300 m, the R. Decker Steig (=via ferrata A/B) branches off to the left, which rejoins the easier variant before the Türkenloch (description below). Continue following the blue marking upstream, over another stair structure, until the terrain becomes flatter and the rocks recede. After another 300 m, a junction is reached. Going straight ahead, the green marking leads to Almesbrunnberg, to reach Türkenloch take the left path (sign "Türkenloch – Jagasitz"), marked in blue. The stream is crossed on a boardwalk and then the hiking trail goes leftwards uphill towards Türkenloch. Before the wooden staircase leading up to the cave entrance, the R. Deckersteig joins again from the left.Now climb the stairs and reach the entrance to Türkenloch (natural monument). The cave is crossed until at its end you reach the outside again via wooden stairs. Shortly after you reach a rocky ridge via a stony path. Follow it to the forest and here turn right (left = direct path to Jagasitz) to pass evenly by a sand pit to reach the large meadow (great Schneeberg view, bench). Here you meet an asphalt road, which you follow to the left until you reach the signposts to Jagasitz, from here marked yellow.Immediately after the Jagasitz guesthouse, turn left downhill (yellow marking) to reach the starting point on a steep gravel road (1.2 km long). Variant R. Deckersteig, via ferrata A/B, red marking: After a short entry ladder, wooden steps lead up the rock to a long iron ladder. This is exposed and leads up to one of the wildlife protection caves. After crossing these caves, you meet the easier bypass again (steep stair structure), which starts at the bottom of the long ladder. Now follow the path and cross another cave. Along the slope, past the "Brammertz-Rast" (bench), you join the "normal path" again before Türkenloch.

- Getting there A2 South motorway exit Leobersdorf, on the Hainfelder federal road B 18 to Weissenbach, turn left onto the main street in Weissenbach and turn left in the village onto Further Straße to Schromenau. Here turn left into Steinwandgraben towards Steinwandklamm. To the end of the asphalt road.
