Description

The trail is just under 12 km long and can be completed in 3.5 hours.

The trail starts at the main square in Zwettl, where the fountain designed by Friedensreich Hundertwasser is particularly attractive. The trail ends in Roiten, where Hundertwasser designed the village museum. He himself lived for years in the nearby "old rooster saw" and created numerous new works there. A visit to the village museum is highly recommended.

There are 13 display boards along the path, designed by photographer Günter Schön, which invite you to encounter interesting photographic results and decipher the secrets of water. In the graphic design of the boards, care was taken to ensure that they are themed and also harmonize perfectly with the respective locations.

This hike offers a wonderful nature experience with idyllic river valleys, impressive rock formations, green forests and natural meadows for a perfect break in the Waldviertel.
