Description
The Opferstein is one of the places in the Kraftarena Groß Gerungs. These places invite you to pause and linger in order to feel the various spatial qualities, from invigorating to calming.
- Equipment Sturdy footwear, functional clothing, sun and rain protection, map material, possibly telescopic poles, first aid kit (blister plasters), sufficient provisions (snack, muesli bar, fruit, water).
- Route description The path leads past the roundabout towards Thail to the Opferstein parking lot. Shortly after, you turn right onto a field path. The Opferstein lies in a group of trees to the left above the path. This object of the Kraftarena Groß Gerungs is a three-meter-high stone with one of the largest bowls in the Waldviertel. You can also try out the wooden telephone and the humming stone here. Then continue over the field and meadow path past the Trinity wayside shrine back to the main square.
