The eastern Austrian border trail 07 (= Austrian long-distance hiking trail 07) was opened in 1979. It leads through the federal states of Lower Austria, Burgenland and Styria and stretches from Nebelstein in the northern Waldviertel to Bad Radkersburg in south-eastern Styria.

The eastern Austrian border trail 07 (= Austrian long-distance hiking trail 07) was opened in 1979. It leads through the federal states of Lower Austria, Burgenland and Styria and stretches from Nebelstein in the northern Waldviertel to Bad Radkersburg in south-eastern Styria.

Through the Thaya highlands into the Weinviertel to the federal capital and the Donau-Auen National Park: From Nebelstein (1017 m), the trail runs in the Waldviertel via Weitra and Gmünd, through the Blockheide and Dobersberg nature parks (465 m), via Karlstein an der Thaya, Geras and Hardegg (309 m), through the Thayatal National Park to the town of Retz (252 m) on the edge of the Weinviertel. From here it continues via Haugsdorf (204 m), Mailberg and through the Leiserberge Nature Park (424 m) to Ernstbrunn and on via Großrußbach (291 m), Hagenbrunn and over the Bisamberg (358 m) to Langenzersdorf (170 m). Now over the Danube Island into the area of the federal capital Vienna (164 m) and through the Lobau recreation area to Großenzersdorf (156 m)
