Description
The Ostrong ridge begins in the south at the Danube and abruptly breaks off in the north at the watershed between Ysper and Weitental. The summit is a genuine thousand-meter peak. At the northernmost tip, on a mighty block castle, the large summit cross of the Kleiner Peilstein (1024 m) shines and points the way to the most beautiful viewpoint in the southern Waldviertel. We take the easier summit path because it is not airy there, but beautifully idyllic and wooded.
The summit conqueror is rewarded with a wonderful view from the highest peak of the "Danube Waldviertel" over the two valleys and the northern high plateau of the granite land. The descent leads mostly along the ascent path back through a forest-rich area.
