Polt Radroute

Description

Follow in the footsteps of the quirky gendarmerie inspector Simon Polt and visit the filming locations of the crime series. The 52-kilometer Polt Trail takes you to one of the most beautiful wine landscapes in Austria. It connects the world of vineyard hills and wine cellar lanes with six villages on the wide valley floor. In many places, there are charming views across the national border to Znojmo, but also far into the Weinviertel, all the way to the peaks of the Alpine foothills.

The Pulkautal valley in the northern Weinviertel between Retz and Laa an der Thaya is the model for the literary "Wiesbachtal". This is where Inspector Polt solves his cases and where the filming locations for the TV movies can be found. The marked numbers are intended to make it easier to find the filming locations.

Moderate inclines alternate with flat stretches. The route is divided into several sections, which can be ridden individually or combined as desired, depending on your mood and fitness level.
